We’ve under gone a few changes this year with some more things in the works. We’re in the process of getting some studio space in St Elmo. We’re excited about this years projects and cant wait to get started!

Fairyland Club Wedding, Chattanooga Wedding Photographers

Our next wedding takes place at the Fairyland Club on Lookout Mtn. This is an awesome place to have a wedding and we can’t wait to get back there.

Nicholas and Alexandra, you may remember them from our past engagement sessions; Well their wedding was just as awesome.

First off, her wedding bouquet was supplied by Humphreys Flowers. Now, Please forgive here if i get this wrong but…..I’m a dude and thought i love flowers, i dont have much of an education about them. I believe these are orchids…not sure what kind but its the beautiful kind. Sorry thats all ya get! They truly are beautiful. An awesome choice for the bouquet.

This is the first time we’ve seen a square wedding band and i have to admit…it’s cool! I like it!

Nick and Alex decided to have a first look..a popular thing amongst weddings today. If your curious about the First Look, i posted a blog about them a while back so you can check out the olde post about the reasons for it and the pro’s and con’s of it.

And here it is the moment he sees his bride for the first time.

Needles to say, Nick was floored. And He should be. Alex was absolutely gorgeous and i have to guess that the anticipation of the upcoming wedding ceremony had to be in forefront of their minds knowing that what standing before them will be a part of them…joined as one.

Once we got the initial first look finished before the wedding, we spent some time with these two just enjoying the moment and having some alone time. One of the benefits of the First Look.

There are small villas that line one side of the property a the Fairyland Club and it almost looks like you’re in a diffrent country.

Does this not look like something something from Spain, Italy, England or one of those other places that choose not to modernize? Its aweome.

Once we got the first dances out of the way and the sun went down enough to get some decent light, we took our bride and groom out of the reception to get more stuff.

At the end of the night everyone lined up inside for the send off. We had an awesome time shooting Nick and Alex’s wedding. We wish them all the best and as always, it was an honor for us to be a part of it their weding day.

Congrats! You two and when the time comes….you need maternity pics!!!

The Witt Wedding –The Farm at Hickory Ridge

Back again at the awesome Farm at Hickory Ridge for another wedding. We posted a blog about the Farm before but i think we’re going to have to do another one. We do a lot of work here and the place and people that work it are just amazing. Its literally a one stop shop for all the wedding needs

Let me change that…a One stop shop PLUS….

What other venue can you go to and right when ya get there, just drop everything and just go fishing on your wedding day, huh guys…anyone? And the cool part is….

You actually catch fish! We all know that the grooms are going to be happy on their wedding….but what if they got to fish right before the wedding?! HAPPY! I mean, you know..they’d take a shower before hand..which they can do here also!

The benefits alone of making this day stress free and special are worth booking here but we’ll deal with this in another blog.

This is Dawn and Dennis’ Wedding Day and WOW, they had an awesome Wedding. Dennis started out fishing….does it get any better? Seriously? Not to mention he landed, i think 6 or 8 bass before he quit.

While Dawn was getting ready, i took the wedding rings and tried to find something different to do with them. I don’t like to the same thing but sometimes i dont have alot of options that i can see. NOT the case here. You guys who have been keeping up with us know I like water shots and reflections shots. The fountain in the courtyard, was just begging for ring shots. And i got lots of them.

While i was playing in the water with the wedding rings, my wife Nema, was in with the bride getting ready

Yep, they grow ‘em big where he comes from…6″4″?…. 6′12″? (that’s 7 feet for the comically impaired). Dawn’s dad. Big Daddy!

The Shmoops! This pretty young lady is Jesse…a.k.a. SHMOOPS! Looks mischievious doesnt she? In fact, her mom has a nickname as well. Together it sounds like something out of a movie…Moochie and Shmoops!….kinda like Ren and Stimpy, ha ha!. Anyone remember that one?

Back to seriousness. One of the things that is becoming increasingly popular is the pouring of the sand instead of the lighting of the unity candle. I like this because this lets the children be involved. Several of the weddings that we’ve shot have been combined families and this is great way to represent the unity of all, not just the unity of husband and wife.

The Kiss!! Moochie gets shmoochies!! And i have no idea why our logo is waaaaaay over here, but ok.

And they’re still kissing…..

Seriously? …ok kidding, they did eventually quit kissing. Here Dennis is carrying his new bride to an area of the lake so we can get a good reflection shot.

When i took this i thought to myself…this looks like something id see on a funny birthday card. No photoshop involved here, just fisheye!

Shmoops is attacking Moochie!

Moochie gets comforted in the aftermath of Shmoop’s attack…no….kidding, they had one final dance…this one was different..everyone just stopped where they were when the DJ announced that it was the last dance. There were people spread abroad and everyone grabbed a partner for the the last moments of the night. It was awesome! We had a blast and we wish these two the best.

I didn’t mention alot about these two but Dennis is a fireman….hats off to him for risking his life to help others. Im not quite sure what Dawn does but she makes him happy…If im in a burning building and im waiting for my hero to save me from the clutches of certain peril….i want him happy when he gets there! I dont want him thinking that life stinks and rethinking his life in the midst of a burning building, ya know! So kudos to Dawn too!

These guys are awesome and have a great since of humor….we’ve had lots of fun with these 2 and looking forward to more in the future.

Congrats Dawn, Dennis and Jesse. You guys rock!

Walnut Hill Farms Dalton Ga; Brett and Tasia’s Awesome Wedding Day

Alrighty! We have Brett and Tasia on the big wedding day! We were stoked about this one. We’d never shot a wedding at this venue before so we were primed and ready!! This is Walnut Hill Farms in Dalton Ga. Super awesome place with loads of scenery. It has all kinds of goodies here for wedding photos so let just jump into it!!

The only thing better looking than Tasia’s wedding dress was her in it! We hung her dress from the barn/reception hall 2nd floor. First inside, then outside with a shot of the whole barn (not shown).

See what i mean?…Dress….nice! Dress + Tasia…. WOW!

4 flower girls and each one did something alittle different…one decided to go back , One did the her job like a pro….

One was doing this like a pro and the other i think was down the isle and gone in 1.2 seconds

Into the garden we go…Lots of great wedding photos but what made it even better was these two. They we’re awesome!

I love color. I dig flowers…im such a girl. I can be manly and love flowers, right?……..right?! If there are flowers around and their not looking drabby…its pretty much a guarantee that it will make it in some of the pictures some how, some way.

I’ve gotten mixed reviews about this pic..some love it, some dont. Being an avid Honda man, i have an appreciation of the older model cars…you know…before the american made car became crap and Howie Long started doing Chevy commercials. One thing to note about a particular chevy commerical involving the comparison of the chevy line to a Honda lawn mower…The tag line was “we just cant compete with that”….sadly its true…that Honda lawn Mower with outlast those Chevy cars by years! And how does Honda respond….they dont..they know they dont need to …that’s class!

The reception was awesome ..check out this lighting! Brett and Tasia got the right man for the job! The lighting set was awesome against all the white linens.

Ok …guy in blue tie looks like he’s in pain, guy in brown vest…nazi, lol kidding!

We had an awesome night full of fun, laughs and love. The one thing i enjoy about weddings is that everyone comes together for a common purpose. The joining of 2 lives becoming one and after that the hats come off and its just people having fun and these guys did…Congrats Brett and Tasia on your new life and thank you so much for letting be a part of it!!!

I recently got a call from a person who saw our blog, saw the link to our website at the top of the blog and clicked on it…all she was able to see were two squares; one with our Client proofing and the other with our Blog. The square for the website was not present. When I look at it from my end it was there.
It appears that anyone using the Firefox search engine can view only our Blog and Client Proofing. If you are using Firefox and you wish to see our site, you may want to switch to Internet Explorer and Google. So far, this has work for those who could not previously see our site. So far we havent had anyone NOT be able to see our site using Internet Explorer and Google, Msn or any other search engine.
Our site is a flash player site and while we understand that flash player sites are nearly invisible to search engines, we’ve had overwhelming responses to those who have seen our site and the easy navigation, and the smoothness of its operation. Therefore, we’re keeping our site….by popular demand. And people love going to it and looking their pictures on it with the music….i cannot deny my peeps!
Anyway i hope this helps assist in being able to see our work. Look for more blogs to come more often in the very near future…next week i start going part time at my job so i can give more attention to out photography…Thank You Lord!

A Wedding at Berry College– Daniel Homrich and Julie Riggs

OK! Time has permitted me to post, yet again!! We’re excited about posting this because this is our first Berry College wedding in along time! In fact, one of our first weddings we did when we started Charis Photography was at Berry College. So we were thrilled to go back and have another wedding here.

This is Daniel and his new wife Julie. These guys are both missionaries and Daniel is an awesome photographer himself. They were our first wedding this year and we loved it. It was a great way to get back into the swing of the wedding season.

This is just one of the many churches on the Berry College Campus. Each one is named something different and the name of this one eludes me at the moment, but none the less is was quite cool. I guess it would be a good time to look at the sign above the door that has the NAME OF THE CHAPEL ON IT!!!!! Yes! The Barnwell Chapel. ( Sorry folks thats me type talking to myself and being saracastic…sometimes i dont get along with me….And No, Im not schizo!…..and neither am i.

Back to the real world…. a side note, all the churches look dramatically different from eachother. The Frost Chapel looks similar to a castle sitting on a hill, this obviously looks like a log cabin, another with a plantation-esque, if I may, look about it with large white columns.

And of course one of the awesome features about this church is the rustic look, hardwood floors, antique furniture inside, etc. Each church has its own charm to it.

Daniel putting the final touch to his wedding ensemble on. This is a pin that Julie’s father wore. He was a pilot and it was in his rememberance that the pin was being worn.

Q: What’s more appealing than a handsome groom all decked out in the wedding gear?

A: A handsome groom all decked out in the wedding gear with good technology in he palm of his hand….dashing!

Daniel and Julie decided to see eachother before the weeding in a First Look. We did an article awhile back on the pros and cons of the First Look. In this case, the deciding factor was the weather. It didnt rain on this particular day but the forecast said it was going to and the sky did too! But it held off and turned out to be a beautiful day.

Then the ceremony!!!

This log cabin church is probably one of the smallest churches we’ve been in. One single middle isle to walk down and when its full there’s no room for movement.

Something worthy of note: the two directly behind Daniel and Julie: The Cirque Du Soleil called and they want their guys back…im kidding, their just all extremely happy…and springy.

Romance in Black and White….these guys did awesome and looked good doing it.

Somethign intersting about this picture that you dont see…see the arches in the background? There WERE people in them.

I caught a very unique glare in the exit that made these pics rather interesting. We had an awesome time at the first wedding of 2010. We wish Daniel and Julie all the best in their upcoming new life and God speed on the missions. They’re devoted to their calling and their new life and they will no doubt succeed in all they put their hands to. Congrats and may God Bless you two daily more than he already does.

Chattanoooga Wedding Photographers at Berry College– Ashley

Hi All!!! Im such a slacker!!!…We’ve been so busy lately ive neglected even my hair…because now i have some and its just soooo wrong! I should not have hair!. But my personal issues arent here to be shared amongst the uncaring. Its only a tool to help you understand that in our busy-ness (if i may make a word up) i have neglected myself as well. Ok….nuff of that!

This gorgeous young lady is Ashley. We took Ashley out to Berry College for some Bridals… what we got was a person who new what to do in front of the camera. Out bridal session turned into a modeling session and my friend Ashley here, was an awesome model.

We laughed and had a blast but when it came to her being at the business end of the camera…she was all business!

This wheel, i dont know if i’ve mentioned before, is still a working mill. Once a year Berry College cranks this wheel up to make corn meal according to my sources.

Ashley looks absolutely stunning in black and white..this will most likely also be one of our business cards. We don’t normally have black and white business cards but this is something im willing to change for a picture like this.

This swan at Swan Lake has appeared in alot of our work.

The old entrance at Berry College is riddled with big trees lining both sides of the drive for about an 1/8 of a mile. it make awesome back drops for pictures

Ashley and her Fiancee’ Joe will be getting married in a few weeks at Patten Chapel. Everyone wish them a great wedding day and we cannot wait to get started. Their engagements were done at Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville Ga but i doubt i will have time to post them before they get married. I have so muh to catch up on here, you may wind up seeing their wedding pics first!

Chattanooga Wedding Photographers — Reflection Riding

Alrighty! We’re back once again…seems like we’re on a roll! We recently had the privilige of taking Charles and Katlin out to Reflection Riding and get some cool stuff…some of which we havent seen there before. We took a detour from the usual path and came up with some really neat stuff.

But before we get to the neat stuff…..take a moment and look at these 2.

Spring and Fall are my too favorite seasons and that’s just for the colors, and temperature, of course and lack of humidty. Ya know Florida has it hurricanes, Alabama has its tornadoes, California has its wildfires, and Georgia…well, we have our humidity and pollen…devistating, i say!

By taking a detour we found theis awesome tree..kinda reminds of a big octopus arm….ok….so……too much sci fi channel.

It made a nice border.

Then we monkeyed around in the tree for a few.

Then of course, right across from Octo-tree was a field and wer always play in the field!

Im not hip on the names of plants but as we were driving we saw these trees and thought it would make a great shot….yep!

Then continuing down the road we hadnt been on before we came across this dead tree. This was probably the most spontaneous we’ve been on a shoot. We’d see something, stop grab a few shots then move on. Normally we try to have it planned on what we want to do for that day but the detour changed all that..im glad we took it!

Nothing like a bunch of weeds to add a little color to a picture!

These guys did fantastic! And a great place to do it! Reflection Riding in the spring is awesome…lots of wildflowers blooming. You’ll being seeing more of this couple shortly after June when they get married. We cant wait to be a part of their Day..Congrats to you 2!

Chattanooga Wedding Photographers — University of the South

Hi all! We’re back and have lots of stuff to show you. This is Chris and Hannah. This good looking couple is going to be getting married Oct 16th of this year and we got the pleasure of spending the afternoon with them at Sewannee University.

My wife loves the feet shots and i must say, she’s acceptional at it

One thing to note in the above picture…i think this is about as close as you can get to a 3D picture only shooting in 2D. I love picrtures like this…it adds so much depth to it it almost looks like you’re there!

Im really not sure where these stairs go..they just go way up!

And of course we had to play in the water a bit!

Then we found a castle!, not really but it does look like one…Love the gothic architecture!
